What Best Sellers Rank means
Best Sellers Rank is Amazon's ordering of items in a category by sales. A lower number means the item is ahead of more products in that category. Amazon's help page says the rank is based on sales and is updated frequently, using recent sales and older sales together. Amazon does not publish a fixed refresh interval.
This page shows that rank, plus the price and rating on the chart. It does not show how many units an item sold.
These charts refresh about once a month, so the list can lag the rank Amazon is calculating. The signed-in explorer fetches live charts metered on your API key. The same lists over HTTP are the Amazon bestsellers API.

Frequently asked questions
What are Amazon best sellers?
Amazon Best Sellers are ranked lists of the top-selling products in each category, based on recent sales. They are one of the clearest signals of what shoppers are buying — useful for spotting trending products and demand.
How often does the best-seller list update?
Amazon's customer help says Best Sellers Rank is based on sales and is updated frequently. That page does not give a fixed interval. This free tool refreshes each chart about once a month. The signed-in dashboard explorer uses your API key and skips that cache. The chart shows rank, price, and rating, not a unit-sales count.
Is the bestseller explorer free?
Yes. It is free with no signup. There is a small rate limit to keep things fair — for higher volume or to pull best sellers in bulk, grab an API key.
Where does the data come from?
From Amazon, through the Canopy API, refreshed monthly. The same best-seller and category data is available live over REST, GraphQL, MCP, or as an LLM skill.
Want best-seller data in your own app?
The Canopy API returns best sellers and categories over REST, GraphQL, MCP, or as an LLM skill — with a generous free tier.
